Hmmm... the original 8 World Warriors, Abel, and the new chick. 10 characters? Surely there will be a few more? I won't mind as long as the gameplay is balanced, but I'll admit to being spoiled with at least 20-25 sized rosters in my modern fighters (with most having significantly more).

Of course, the more characters you have, the more they can be mere clones of others, but still.

Not impressed with the animation. I know you have to sacrifice fluidity for gameplay to a certain degree, but even windmill kicks looked kinda janky.

Found this linked from shoryuken.com - Famitsu has more screenshots of the game from earlier in the month, with a build that's supposed to be "50% done". Has some UI elements, shows screenshots of Ryu Parrying a fireball (For those looking for more 3S elements), and how super specials will be shown.

I don't like the character art to be honest. Every character looks like they weigh 300lbs, even Chun-Li with her huge thunder thighs. Feels like all this was done by Epic.

Oh well. Looks cool otherwise. Just not a huge fan. Not that it matters. I haven't really played a fighter game since Dreamcast. Marvel vs Capcom, SNK vs Capcom, Guilty Gear X, and obviously Soul Calibur.

I played SF2 a LOT, but I always preferred the Tekken games over this series. These games just have way too much of a Japanese Manga IN-YOU-FACE-AND-OVER-THE-TOP feel to it. I don't much like that there's an unmovable "edge" to the left and right of the screen, either. Tekken's arena is actually 3D so you can sidestep toward or away from the camera -- it feels more open -- compared to this Tekken is a fight simulator.

That being said, this game does look badass.
