Discovery Channel Hauls Deadliest Catch to PC, X360

The Discovery Channel announced today the development of a video game based on its popular crab-huntin' reality series Deadliest Catch, set for an April release on the PC and Xbox 360.

Entitled Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm, the game puts players in the shoes of a crab boat captain in the Bering Sea, battling 40-foot waves while scouring the ocean floor and managing a rough-and-tumble crew of fishermen. Aimed as a simulation for die-hard crab fishing fanatics, Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm also supports multiplayer via Xbox Live.

The title comes as part of an initiative announced by the Discovery Channel earlier this year to produce games based on a variety of their properties. Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm is developed by Bellevue, Washington-based Liquid Dragon Studios.
