Persona 3 FES Coming April 22

Atlus USA today announced that Persona 3 FES, a 2-disc package including the original RPG title and a new expansion chapter, will be making it to North America on April 22.

The company promises the new chapter will function as a stand-alone game, delivering over 30 hours of gameplay. However, players of the original title will be able to use their saved games in order to continue the story with old data.

Persona 3 FES will hit the PlayStation 2 on April 22 for an MSRP of $29.99.

I want to want this, but based on everything I've read, it's almost entirely my least favorite thing about Persona 3 (namely, the grinding and dungeon crawling), but for the entirety of the expansion. That, and the removal of the Persona Compendium makes it sound like a tedious dungeon-crawling experience rather than a worthwhile expansion on a great game.

My roommate picked up Persona 3 a while back and the game looked really, really boring. He basically fought through identical dungeons over and over again until he hit the right time/level and then went on a mission that actually meant something.

Oh, and don't forget the random "daily life" segments where he has to join the student council and encourage some dorky kid to try harder in track or something.

Man I'll probably buy this but I don't know if I have the willpower to go through the Persona 3 main game again. It took me over 100 hours the first time through, and while it was fun, it was an incredible test of endurance.
