Alone In The Dark Tech Movie

A new Alone in the Dark movie has been released, offering four minutes of developer narrated footage focusing on the game's engine features. In development at Eden Studios, the horror action game is due out for PC, PlayStation2, Xbox 360 and Wii this May, with a PlayStation 3 release following later this year.

  • It would be neat to see a game were physics determine everything, and not a premade set of rules like here. I mean, this is closer that most games, but you're still operating in a set of pre-programmed actions. I bet when you pick up the stickytape for the first time, there's an info box that pops up that tells you what you can do with it. IRL, I would never try to wrap tape on the outside of something and throw it at a wall or creature to see if it stuck. For one thing, it would have to hit exactly flat on the tape side to stick, and the tape would have to be really sticky, or else most things would fall off the walls, especially in a sewer where water is running down them.

    It's neat, but it's still a pre-programmed mechanic.
