Weekend Discussion

So how are you kids doing this weekend? Things are doing well here, going to have a little something going on for those in the comments so maybe you should drop by even if that's not your regular bag. In other news, Faylor has this week's Video Game Release List, and there's even a new Dynasty Warriors! I wonder if you kill lots of braindead NPC minions in it?

No doubt, the key seems to be momentum, and if you can keep the expansion going, you'll be OK, but once you get rocked back, it's tough to recover.

And I don't know if it's because I've been playing 1 on 1 games or what, but WTF Pirates? Do you have some kind of blood vengeance against me? Why don't you attack the other guy every now and again?

Because you didn't pay them to?

I do! Every time the bounty on me goes up, I bump it so that the other guys is higher.

I like to plan my expansion where I flank around the other player, that way the pirates have a straight shot to the closest planet that the enemy has. Maybe you're just in the way?

Also, if your already attacking the enemy that has bounty, then when the pirates get there your ships are going to attack the pirates as well.

This also occurs if you have a planet in enemy territory, and the pirates have to go through your gravity well to get to the player with the highest bounty. They automatically say things like "this is gonna hurt" even though they are just passing through.

You have a short bit of time when the timer hits 00:00 to up bounties. The timer hitting 00:00 is what triggers the "impending pirate raid" warning. When you get the "pirates are on the lose" warning, it's too late to increase bounty.

Keep in mind that the pirates will pretty much always attack the same system of yours as long as you haven't acquired or lost any since their last attack (and often even then). That can let you make sure you have enough defense there to crush their attack. At the point, the only reason to care about the bounty is if you specifically want the pirates to attack an enemy.
