How come when games come out the the PS3 and the 360, the ps3 version always seems to have "washed out" colors? Is it just me?

  I thought that the 360=DirectX, while PS3=OpenGL (at least some flavor of it) - I have no idea if it's even remotely the same deal, but I remember older PC stuff doing the same. That is, OpenGL looked kinda washed out but less aliased & just generally smoother, while DX stuff was much more colorful but more cartoony. It took a while for me to be happy with the realism factor in DX.

  I don't think opengl should make it looked washed out at all. Look at games like Doom 3, Quake 4. Do they... : nutcrackr
