Child's Play Raises Record $1.3M In 2007
The charity approached and eventually toppled its 2006 $1 million record in December, and was only recently able to account for the flood of donations sent in.
Founded in 2003 by Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the organization provides over 40 hospitals around the world with the means to better entertain sick children.

replyI think it is a great cause. When my brother had pneumonia they had a Super Nintendo in there for him to play and it helped keep his mind off things.

There were PS2s in all of the long term recovery rooms at Texas Children's hospital when my daughter had her second surgery. I believe they were put there by Child's Play as TCH was on last year's list and they weren't there during her first surgery. This actually rocks for parents too because you can get your game on while you are stuck in the hospital. My daughter was an infant too, so I didn't even have to share. I think I finished Shadows of the Colossus over a few weekends while I was there.
