So this is somehting like Second Life as I understand.... If so Im going to make the biggest slob ever Its going to be great. People in Second Life LOVED my character heres a pic

I don't see the point in this at all. I'm all for achievements, but I don't need a lame Second Life clone where I can stand around polishing my trophy if you know what I mean.

I just cannot give two shits about Home while the PS3 still lacks the basic online functionality of Xbox Live. A persistent friends list, universal voice chat, integrated in-game messaging -- who cares about customizing a virtual dude and hanging out in Second Life when you can't accomplish the basic tasks necessary for a seamless and fun multiplayer experience.

I wonder how frequently a PS3 owner can alter his/her avatar. Not just clothing and hairstyle, but all the way back to sex, race, height, weight etc.

The race is on! Will DNF or Home be released first?

I think it's cool that some people are trying something a little different... and I admit that Home has some cool ideas behind it... but I can't help but think that they are wasting their time building this 'game' (software). I think it's something that would be really cool when you first see it... everybody is going to try it out and mess around with it. Then a few weeks later... they will go back to playing real games and watching DVD's and Blu-ray's.

I think in order for something like this to really work as a 3d interface for their online services (which seems to be how they are talking about it) it should be on the HDD from the release date. The entire system would have had to have been designed around that. If you take your PS3 out of the box... plug it in... and you are in Home. That would be cool, and that could work. I don't think it will work this way. But maybe I'm wrong.

Its free so i guess its better to have it than not to have it? definately purdy, but i wonder how this will make them any money since its being distributed as free as it obviously costs money to develop this "game".

the look and tone of this seems so serious and ... adult. i think i would be interested if it was more vibrant and fun looking, like more of a complete escape from the real world.

At What point, when talking about online social platforms such as this, will it be acceptable to place game in italics or quotes?
