LucasArts President Jim Ward Resigns
by Aaron Linde, Feb 01, 2008 1:38pm PSTLongtime LucasArts employee and current president Jim Ward has resigned from the company and will leave his post in two weeks.
Ward cited "personal reasons" for his resignation. President of Lucas Licensing Howard Roffman will be stepping in while the company searches for a new president.
Shacknews contacted LucasArts for further information, but representatives could not comment further on Ward's resignation.
"I am so proud of all people and the work we've done together at LucasArts over the last four years," Ward wrote in an email to Kotaku, which broke the story. "It's been an incredible experience. Together we've rebooted the company and set LucasArts on a path to even greater success. This is a fantastic team and they are positioned for their best year ever."
LucasArts PR director Margaret Grohne said that Ward's departure from the company will not affect the studio's release schedule or development plans. "We have a really strong line up for 08," she said. "[Ward] is leaving us in a very good place."

My bet is the Indiana Jones game will be timed to coincide with the new movie (no brainer). Other than that I have no idea what interesting projects LucasArts has in the pipeline. Getting rid of Ward was only the first step in turning LA around.

I just never really got how LA sang so low. This guy really ran the company into the ground.
They need to look back at what made them so successful in the first place. I mean with the xbox live features of voice command and all its screaming for an new xwing simulator. no? How about a good adventure game? Oh wait...Tim Schafer left...good for him.
