Ummm... Baby Banks?
by Jack Mathews, Mar 08, 2000 2:08pm PSTHere's a really weird story (haven't done one in awhile). Apparently Germany has these little government sponsored dumpster type things that mothers can put unwanted babies into. Don't believe me, it's right here. I would think of a joke to put here, but this is just way too strange. Here's another one. Britain's had quarantine laws that required pets to be in kennels for a year after entering the country. This was to prevent rabies like 100 years ago. Instead of abolishing that backwards law, they decide to instead give out pet passports. Gotta love them Europeans :)

I can see it now, a breakdown in the program:
Some nurse is on her break when the baby-arrival alarm sounds, and some kid rolls right on through and falls on the floor.
What\'s the age limit that kids can be dropped off? I mean, if Gunter is 17 years old yet acts like a baby, is he still a candidate?
Thanks!

In Denver it is unlawful to lend your vacuum cleaner to your next-door neighbor.
lol
So assuming that Germany has 81 Million people in it and 130 were abandon, and assuming that the USA has 272,639,608 (July 1999 est.) people in it, the us had 437 babies abandoned last year.
Oh wait! They said it was double... So 874 babies! Ain\'t it great? Really though, any amount of abandonment is a bad thing, and anything we can do to stop it (before it happens.. no baby banks) is a good thing.
Thanks!

The best part is, bullet penetration through walls will be based on the material type as well as thickness...so that AWP bullet might go through a thin wood wall, but perhaps not concrete....
