Which by the way is the price of quake 3 arena at circuit city this week.
now that\'s got to hurt.
big time hurt.
KillCreek already responded to this in the PDK forums.
I work for a small game developer that has been developing a first person shooter for a very long time, something like over 4 years. It seems like we\'ve been close to finishing the project for the past year, but like no one seems to know what to do about getting it done.
I don\'t think anyone in the industry is naieve enough to consider Ion Storm a small game devloper. And Daikatana is just reaching the 3 year mark. I thought it could be someone from 3drealms, but that seems equally unlikely for similar reasons.
isnt out yet.....
Nobody\'s in game development for the money, they\'d have to be crazy. heh
WTF are you talking about?
Dominion: Storm over Gift 3 anyone?
: P
Though it pains me, this game might be good.
*hawkeye*
(I glanced at Shambler\'s article again, and my eyes began bleeding from the inherent stupidity. http://www.team-sh.dircon.co.uk/botmatch.html )
Does anyone else wonder why Romero was so ambitious with DK? I mean, it\'s going to cost $50, like all the other games (Quake3,UT,SoF), why make it so huge? You know it\'s going to have way more content than any of those games, and it will sell big (probably), but probably not bigger than Q3a or UT. Why make it so massive?
My answer: Games are Art, and in this case, the art has gone beyond the commercial and into the personal. I think JR has a big stake in this game personally as a work of art, and that\'s why he\'s pumping it with so much content.
Ah well....
But....
It could just as easily be 3d Realms.
