by Chris Remo, Jan 30, 2008 9:53am PSTAccording to publisher Majesco, Office Create's casual cooking sim franchise Cooking Mama has been a surprise hit--and is frequently praised by Shack commenters, their significant others, and their offspring--selling some 1.6 million units in the United States alone, with over a million of those coming from the original Nintendo DS title.
That title was released in 2006, with a Wii game early last year and a DS sequel last November. A second Wii release is expected later this year.
Said Majesco CEO Jesse Sutton, "The success of Cooking Mama has been akin to catching lightning in a bottle."
