"Guitar Hero On Tour" Trademarked by Activision, Likely Heading to DS

2
Activision has filed to protect the trademark "Guitar Hero On Tour," the most likely name for the publisher's upcoming DS version of their wildly successful Guitar Hero franchise.

French gaming site Wiiz revealed a partial list of Activision release dates for Europe, which include a listing of Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS. While Shacknews has been unable to confirm the accuracy of the release list, its authenticity is lent some weight by a recently filed trademark of the title filed in the United States and uncovered by Trademork.

A Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero was officially confirmed to be in the works by RedOctane CEO Charles Huang in August of last year. The developer is exploring the possibility of using a peripheral to deliver an authentic Guitar Hero experience on a portable platform.

Activision and RedOctane were reached for comment but have not yet responded.

This could either be really good, or really bad. I'm not sure how this game will translate to the DS. My kids have this alvin and the chipmunks game where you have to tap alnog with songs. it's really simple and all, but I don't know if that will work out for the GH game.
