            I ran a set of Bose 901 Series VI speakers for ~ 14 years. I really liked them, and they still sound good to me. Esp. if they are placed properly in the room. I replaced them recently with a pair of B&W 683s. Maybe it's just the "OMG, new speakers" factor, but the B&Ws sound a lot better than the 901s ever did. I really love them.
            
            IMHO Bose speakers sound much better than the internet would lead you to believe. I think most of the griping originates in the price and the way they are marketed.
