shack vs. valve - round 2 - FIGHT!

ErikJ and I have been chatting today about another scrim against valve this evening.
Its not 100% certain that they will be able to field 12 players, but he said he'd berate them all until they got 12 (or at least close).

It'd be on the valve server again (so soureTV would be avaiable!), and at 6pm Pacific.

Who else is available at 6pm Pacific to play?

So my iPod got junked out at Best Buy.

That is to say, my old 4th Generation 40 GB died on me, and I was able to get it returned within my replacement plan for an iPod Classic 80 GB.

My question for the shack is:
Do any stores accept receiptless returns? I have an iPod shuffle and it so far meets all my needs. My 40 GB was broken for a while, and I've just been using this shuffle and I feel like it's plenty. Soooo... what do I do with a brand new shrinkwrapped still-with-replacement-receipt iPod?

I think I heard Wal Mart accepts returns without receipts ("It was a gift") but I'm not sure...?

Ok im going to give this a go. I played the beta and I was so disappointed. I never played ET so I didn't know what to expect but based on the hype behind the original, my love of Quake 2 and the amazing screenshots I totally thought I would love it.

Why are you guys not playing Savage 2? Forget what you heard about the game. It's awesome. Exhibit A, which I took from a replay of a match I did this morning.

I did this in a match this morning and had to dub the replay into a movie. I did a suicide rush against a Malphas, and lived.

To put it in perspective, I'm using a free unit. To get that Malphas Demon, that player's team had to find a hell scar, clear the elite mobs off of it, build a hell shrine on it, defend said shrine, and then that player had to get 15 killing blows on other players and spend them at that shrine on the Malphas.

The Malphas got two souls during the fight from the guys I jumped over, healing him. He also had a healer standing behind him. The guys in front of me either died or ran off.

Savage 2 is awesome.

Any recommendations on a racing game for PS3? I've been playing the SHIT out of the Gran Turismo HD "demo" or whatever it is. I absolutely LOVE the feel and handling of the cars. I bought Ridge Racer a while back, but it's just too arcadey for me. Racing just isn't fun and the whole "drift" system is just silly IMO. There are a few games out right now, but do any of them offer an even halfway realistic driving model that I'd enjoy?

God I hate phone companies. I just spent the last hour on the phone with Verizon (who's call center is apparently in Mexico City) because my DSL STILL isn't working at all. At least before it was intermittent.

They were supposed to be there between 8&5 today and my wife, who stays home to make sure she doesn't miss them, gets a automated message saying sorry we missed you call back to reschedule. Then she gets the runaround about how they cant get anybody there until next week some time.

They did the same thing earlier in the week, when she was told to be there all day on Wednesday, which she was, and got the automated message saying sorry we missed you on TUESDAY. It was then rescheduled to today.

What can I do though, It's either them or Time Warner for internet. There has to be something else.

I'll be 3rd wheel in a 20 gallon batch tomorrow (2beersx10gal), and the primary participants aren't sure what sounds good. Any ideas? Bear in mind that there's already a fair amount of the following on tap:

-Russian Imperial Stout
-Winter Warmer Ale
-Milk Chocolate Stout
-Oatmeal Stout
-Rye Pale Ale
-some kinda lager (supposed to be a ripoff of Negro Modello)
