  Perusing the specs, I would've gone with my Dell XPS m1330 even if the Air was available at the time.

  The customized Dell is about 1.5lbs heavier (with the biggest battery available), but has a 160GB 7200RPM hard drive, a real video card (128MB 8400GS), a 2.2GHz CPU, and after a quick and inexpensive upgrade, had 4GB of RAM. Oh, and a built-in DVD+/-RW. Everything else is about the same.
