Turok Demo On Foreign Xbox Live Marketplaces (Updated)
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 15, 2008 5:05am PSTUpdate: The Turok demo is not currently available in North America, Xbox Live programming director Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has clarified. This restriction may be due to the demo's inclusion in the latest issue of Future Publishing's Official Xbox Magazine.

The new Turok will arrive January 29 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC release following later.

Warning, first 5 minutes is god damn dull. You are stuck in a cave, needlessly dark and full of tension. (i dont like tension).
Graphically this isn't gorgeous. Its not ugly by any means, but its just what you come to expect a FPS to look like, with all the really good looking ones already out. It has the occaisional cool graphic thing, like for instance, execution moves are pretty cool (on dinosaurs). Getting knocked on your arse, is also cool when a dinosaur charges you. The environment looks pretty damn nice too, lots of foilage and places to sneak up on your enemies.
But as shackstaff has said, its just so mediocre. Im sure itll be a good SP romp, but i got bored of the demo and didn't finish it.
TLDR version:
+not ugly
+dinosaurs!
+satisfying execution moves
+well implemented environment
-not pretty
-unsatisfying gunplay
-not as many checkpoints as i would like

In other words I expect it to top Turok 2 in terms of the sort of free-roam zelda like dungeons with the keys and whatnot. I don't want just another game with dinosaurs. Sometimes I think people didn't even play Turok 2 fully, which is why thy claim it's just generic or a rail shooter. It's not, it's more akin to Hexen in how levels are completed.
If this new game is NOT like that, then I pass. Unless of course it stands on it's own as something new. Those videos didn't make me think this though.

Turok is an epic, story-driven first-person shooter set on a dark, mysterious planet in the future. While Whiskey Company is traveling to the genetically altered planet inhabited by Kane and his soldiers, Whiskey Company’s ship is shot down. Turok must use his elite military training to elude Kane’s well-trained army, known as Mendel-Gruman, and the ravenous, unpredictable dinosaurs, huge insects and other massive creatures that populate the dangerous environment.
