PlayStation Store Adds New Super Stardust HD Patch, Demo, More

3

The latest update to the PlayStation Store offers a slew of new content, including new features for Housemarque's Super Stardust HD (PS3) and a playable demo of the game for those looking to give it a trial run.

New features added to Super Stardust HD include the addition of custom soundtracks, as well as an overhaul of the scoreboard which now tracks stats like session time and highest difficulty level reached. This patch is free to download for owners of Super Stardust HD, and available at the PlayStation storefront.

Additionally, the tracks announced earlier this week for Harmonix's Rock Band (PS2, PS3, X360) are now available to PlayStation 3 owners. Represented in this week's haul are "Die, All Right!" by The Hives, "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots, and a cover of Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast," for $1.99 each.

As for downloadable game content, Game Republic's Folklore (PS3) has been updated with two new quest packs available at $3.99 a piece or $5.99 for a bundle. "The Alchemist Pack" and "The Origin of Belgae" both include four additional side quests, an extra Folk to capture and a new costume for Ellen.

Players looking to dodge the work and quickly unlock two cars in EA Black Box's Need for Speed ProStreet (PS3, X360, Wii, PC) can unlock the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron for $2.99 a piece. If that's a little too rich for your blood, these cars are unlockable via standard play in the game's career mode at no cost to the player.

Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot 2: The Wrath of Cortex (PSX) is the latest addition to the PlayStation Store's original PlayStation classics line-up, available now for $5.99. And finally, a demo of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PS3, X360, PC) has been made available as a free download.
