well, the screenshots that are coming out look good (hand picked by the PR department I'm sure)
but the gameplay video just looked... meh.
looked like a spacebased version of Supreme Commander... which isn't a bad game at all, I like it, but this doesn't seem so WOW anymore.

PR department (in this case, me) says: Actually, I handpicked nothing -- just sent along the shots I got. The video was actually taken by beta testers. If we wanted to dazzle more, we could have done a nice flashy edited trailer that zooms in on battles more and such -- and when you're playing you could certainly do that, too. The player who took this video just happens to like the more zoomed-out approach.

well, I guess that's they're choice to play it that way. Personally, I like to be in the thick of it, zoomed way in.
        Thanks for the explanation, though.
Bit of a request. Next time we get a GP video, can you try and mix it up a bit so we can get both viewpoints?

this video wont sell the game thats for sure, i guess its hard for strategy games that focus on good gameplay elements to showcase themselves in a video

no video would have been better IMO

so how does this game compare to say master of orion? (im talking about 1 & 2 here, im denying 3 ever existed)

btw that voice acting tries too much to sound like the protoss

The voice-over in that video is placeholder content. The final game will be different. The beta versions lag behind the internal ones by a fair margin.

Problem is, like supcom, the zoomed out approach is probably so much more efficient, which leads to 'look at dots fighting' syndrome. Supcom have great graphics, but I dont get to see them most of the time cause my base will get wasted on the other side of the map by a lone clone commander or something.
