Majesco Announces Wii Home Building Game
by Chris Faylor, Jan 07, 2008 8:41am PSTContinuing its recent torrent of Wii announcements, Majesco has unveiled Our House, a home construction simulator for the Wii. Developed by Budcat Creations, the game is slated to arrive during the 2008 holiday season.
In order to build and personalize their dwelling, players must earn the money for raw materials from various mini-games, then purchase the goods and use the Wii Remote to perform activities such as hammering, sawing, painting, and tiling.
The game also allows players to landscape the exterior of their home, participate in four-player "build-offs," and share their creations with others through online functionality.
"Few things are as exciting as building and personalizing a home of your own, and only the innovative Wii Remote makes it possible to hammer every nail and paint every wall," noted Majesco executive VP Gui Karyo.
According to Majesco, Our House represents "the first home design game built from the ground up exclusively for the Wii system," suggesting that other studios may be developing similar titles in the burgeoning genre.

Sounds good then.
You just have to see the time and energy people spend customizing their houses in RPGs, MMOs, and Sims-like games to see the appeal..
If the game is half decent it could be a success.
Also, will there be a virtual homeowners association that sends nasty notes if the grass grows too high?
