I recall seeing this in some other code (that I cant find now), and I know its possible in other languages. I want to have 2 functions of the same name, on the same class, that take different arguments.
But I get Duplicate function definition. Is such a thing possible, or is this just a pipe dream.

Home automation has been a dream of mine ever since I first discovered X10 years ago. It has been in the back of my mind constantly and the only thing that stops me is the cost. At $50 a switch I'd need a pretty significant wad of cash in my pocket to simply get all of the switches replaced.
In my old apartment, I had the two switches in my living room replaced with Smarthome SwitchLinc (non Insteon) dimmers and I LOVED it. I had a controller next to the couch so I could easily dim the main light down when watching movies. However, it was only of limited usefulness because the rest of the lights in viewing range (kitchen, bathroom, even the bedroom if the door was open) were not remote controlled so I still had to get up to turn them off.
I drool at the thought of being able to hit a "Watch movies" macro on my remote and not only have the home theater system turn on and switch to the proper inputs, but all of the lights in the room would turn off or dim to the appropriate levels. As long as I'm dreaming, I would also automate some Zone B speakers in my kitchen so that if I got up to get a drink while watching TV, the kitchen light being turned on would trigger the Zone B speakers so I can still hear my show. There are lots of little cool things I could do too, like having the lights dim up automatically if the phone rang while watching a movie.
Does anyone have any systems even remotely like this in their homes? How do you like it? How much have you spent on it? Can you please give me a few thousand dollars?

All it takes is simple, consistent changes to your lifestyle.
Step 1:
I stopped drinking 2L of coke and downing a whole medium Domino's Pizza every night. In fact, I dropped soda altogether, cold turkey, and stopped eating other junk foods like chips (I'd regularly eat a whole bag myself as well.
Step 2:
I started doing mild exercise. First I went for short walks to get into the groove of doing regular exercise, then I began doing 30 minutes every day or two on a stationary bike and eventually started running regularly on a treadmill and lifting weights. Now I do sports (tennis, soccer) and martial arts fairly regularly to stay in shape.
That's really all I did. No strict guidelines (besides my no soda rule for the first 6 months or so). I dropped about 80 pounds in that first year, from 260 to 180. I fluctuate between about 165 and 180 now, depending on the time of year. Just simple and consistent changes in your lifestyle. I even eat junk food and drink soda now. But unlike before, it's in moderation and I also eat good food and exercise. You can do it too!

Precinct: Obaminated :O
160 people total in my local precinct, thus a 24-man viability cutoff.
At the initial count, 81 Obama supporters and no other candidate made the cutoff, not even Edwards or Clinton.
At the end count, Obama held majority in the room and Edwards and Richardson made viability as well. Talked with the girlfriend (in a different precinct) and it was essentially the same situation in her precinct of 400 people, with an exception of more candidates making viability.
Anyone else back from their precinct?

Apple files for a patent where it looks like a iMac like "Integrated monitor and docking station". Essentially, it's an iMac, but the innards are gutted, and you just slide your MacBook or MacBook Pro into it.. including a liquid cooling system, possible expanded storage space, and a telephone?

So my 360 shit out on me and I (in anger!) purchased an Elite 'cause there was no Arcades available. Great. So I got to mail away for a friggin' tranfer cable, leaving me stuck without access to my beloved save files.
