Kane & Lynch: Dead Men Demo Hits Xbox Live

A demo for Io Interactive's Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PC, PS3, X360) has arrived on Xbox Live. The 520MB demo gives a small taste of the full title's flawed mercenary/medicated psychopath action in a single player or offline co-op portion of a level--Kane & Lynch doesn't feature online co-op play.

The game launched last month to nearly universal panning by reviewers, Shacknews included, for mostly technical flaws. However, ShackBlog guest writer Steve Gaynor has defended the PC version of the game, describing it as a much deeper and gratifying experience on that platform.

The cover mechanics are by far the worst I've ever seen. Judging from the demo, that's my only major complaint. The aiming seems slow and hitboxes don't seem super accurate or reactive, but I can let that slide - just take some time to get use to. But i enjoyed it enough that I will most likely rent it over Xmas break.

no word on PS3 or PC demo? I want to try it out bad. People say it looks like crap but the screenshots say otherwise IMO. People say the gameplay mechanics are crap....well they said the same thing about games like the first couple Resident Evils and I never had a problem with them what-so-ever. They say the characters are completely unlikable...I'll be the judge of that.

Tim at CAD was hyping this like a madman, but then as soon as it was released he shutup completely. Maybe I should at least give the demo a shot though

horrible controls, they don't feel right at all, I had to set sensitivity to 0 and acceleration to 100 for it to feel somewhat like most games
