Online Full Team Play Comes to NBA Live 08
by Carlos Bergfeld, Dec 17, 2007 2:05pm PSTLast month, EA Canada's FIFA Soccer 08 (PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, NDS, Wii, X360) became the first EA title to feature larger-scale online team play, with a free download enabling five-versus-five matches for the game on Xbox 360 and PS3. The feature has crept into another of EA's sports franchises today, with the PS3 version of EA Canada's NBA Live 08 (PC, PS2, PS3, Wii, X360) getting five-on-five team play today as well.
The update--automatically available in the PS3 version of the game after an update and coming to the Xbox 360 version later this month--allows five human players to take on five other human-controlled opponents, simulating a true-to-life basketball game.
If ten players aren't available, AI-controlled opponents can take the place of any number of the players. In FIFA Soccer 08, six of the 11 teammates on each team are AI-controlled when playing with the online team play update.
