Console COD4 Multiplayer Patch Coming in December
by Carlos Bergfeld, Dec 14, 2007 3:57pm PSTA patch making a plethora of tweaks and changes to the online multiplayer in Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, X360) will be arriving on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in December. Infinity Ward's community relations manager made the announcement on the official Xbox forums, and the full list of changes is hosted here.
The playlist changes augment most of the gametypes with additional maps, and all playlist changes apply to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Xbox 360-specific patch updates include improved network performance for larger games, weapon tweaks, and additional spawn locations.
The community manager didn't list the PS3-specific patch updates. The PC version of the game has received three patches since its launch.

Online gameplay on console is still light years behind PC =/
-dedicated voice chat servers. No need for listning to imbeciles on public chat
-custom map rotations
-dedicated servers
-fast servers (because of dedicated servers)
-don't have to hit random "servers", join your favorite servers
-custom mods which fixes some of the insanly stupid things developers think are cool

wetworks on the other hand (the only symetrical map in the game) is a much better map and a hell of a lot more fun.. shame we only get to see it in s&d or headquarters.
ambush in headquarters should be rather interesting..... looking forward to that.
as for oldcore, glad it's gone... absolutely no one played it.... as for free for all, not a huge fan of it... but at least the points to win was reduced, so hopefully idiots that exclaim "I HAVE A K/D OF 2.4 YOU SUCK!" will shut up since they wont be able to juice up their score in that mode.
and ill play more team hardcore now that TDM and S&D are split up... hardcore TDM was alright, but hardcore s&d was balls
