  • Peter Jackson comes along and does his style of a LOTR trilogy. He goes on to win multiple academy awards and the next best thing Hollywood can produce is Dungeon Siege? <sigh>

There is so much good fantasy already written, I simply can't comprehend why somebody would choose to go after the relatively sparse Dungeon Siege universe as the basis for a movie. All those writers would have needed to do was visit a comic book shop for a day and ask the patrons about their favorite fantasy novels, and then visit a book store. Even knowing that not every novel or series can translate well to a screenplay, they still would have been sitting on a goldmine of material to license.
