What\'s the big deal about 1 GHZ if nobody can afford the damn thing. At the rate this is going, by the end of the year AMD and Intel will be racing to get their 2 GHZ chips to market costing $8499.99 a piece. But nobody\'s going to give a rat\'s ass except shareholders because nobody will be willing to shell out the cash.

#28: I use Allaire\'s Homesite (http://www.allaire.com), version 4.5 -- you can get a demo version to try it out, and probably warez it from somewhere, but it\'s worth the $100 or so they\'re charging. I think there are still some bugs, and I think that they do admit that it\'s more of a resource hog than in past revs, but it\'s a great dev environment.

I don\'t care who\'s tops. I love seeing a new CPU pop up every month. I think my REAL upgrade will be at 2001 :) By then a 2 gigaherts + will be more than a reality with cheap RAMBUS prices too. Hell I just canceled my order for the dual 700 and got two 750 and they are on there way. I have no fucking idea why the 700 and 733 are out of stock while the 750 are IN stock. Lasttime I do back orders I swear! I would be more than happy with 700! Oh well the price is the same actually when I first ordered the dual 700 so it\'s no loss :)

AMD just hit a new 52wk high... $48. Trading @ 47 1/2 atm. IMO the 1ghz hype will soon settle...

btw, CNBC is Intel\'s bitch. They mention AMD offhand then proceed to plug Intel\'s 1ghz this week repeatedly.

#28 - If you can swing it, Dreamweaver is a great WYSIWYG editor. Much better than FrontSuck Page. It\'s pretty expensive, tho. HomeSite is what I use for most of my development.

#28, I use ultraedit/vi for quick\'n\'dirty html monkey stuff (depending if already ftpee\'ing or logged in to host). Allaire Homesite 4.5 for major projects - have to love its url mapping & win32 apache+php for dev.

one has to wonder why AMD can get MUCH better yields then Intel can with thier high end CPU. Could it be the cache speed issue? When/if AMD ever goes to on die full speed cache will we see a drop in yield? I don\'t think AMD would have marginably better fab plants to yield such great speeds and high yields. Hmmmmm.....aren\'the 1 GHz still non Cu based? If so then maybe we will see 1.5+ GHz speeds when they move to Cu....if they havn\'t already
