that said i love my hacked iphone. edge is dog slow, but thats what ive been used to for the past year (tmobile user, came from a dash). i had been debating getting an itouch and then decided, the hell with it, i dont want to carry to devices around so this way i get the best of both worlds. i think from a pure phone perspective its an excellent phone that does all the basics right. safari is also the best mobile browser ive used to date.
im still not totally in love with the typing but i have gotten much better at it. if they would have just made it so the damn keyboard flipped in all apps then id give it the full two thumbs up. i do miss my direct push email but i cant say its hurt me much, but my job doesnt require me to have up to the second email checking.
lack of gps support is god damn stupid. maybe they will at least update the google app to support cell tower id stuff, but until then its simply pathetic. the bluetooth on the phone is neutered so you cant even use a 3rd party device.
music listening (and even video watching) rocks. super slick interface thats easy to use, and i guess if you are a former ipod user then the system of syncing will be a no brainer to you.
overall id say i have no regrets in getting one, if nothing else its just fun to play with when you're bored. you can even slap scumm and gba emulators on it. by the time the ellusive 3g model comes out, i probably wont be able to crack it for tmobile anymore (who knows) and by then i expect tmobile to have a good 3g phone worth getting. ill probably sell my phone off at that point.
