Fuck electricity is expensive!

How much is your electric bill each month? Mine is over $200 and it's pissing me off. It seems that everyone I talk to says they have a much much lower bill but I figure if I ask here I might get some answers from people who run more than a couple electronic components 24/7.

Even better, what is your actual Kwh usage? Here is my November usage:

Obviously the problem is the huge number of Kwh I have in that nasty 201-300% baseline category.

Shack Squad, UNITE!

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new widescreen monitor, and fancy a quick, cheap upgrade to my AGP gfx card. I've asked in the past and people have urged me to just save for a new machine. But fuck that, I'm getting shitty fps in episode 2 and tf2 and I just want a cheap boost. Currently I've got a vanilla 6600 (no GT), with my upgrade options being limited to a 7600GS, 256mb 2600XT or a 512mb X1650 Pro. I know im not going to play the latest or best, as the rest of my system is dead tech, but I'd like to squeeze that little bit more performance out of my system.

So which of these 3 looks the best? I'm not willing to spend more than Ã‚Â£70 on it and need to order from a UK site, so no newegg or dollar pricing. The sites im looking at these things on are www.play.com, www.cclonline.com and www.dabs.com

Also, im getting by on a 300watt PSU at the mo, I take it I'd need a new one to get these cards running? I know in the grand scheme of things its better to wait, but im not going to have the money for a full new machine for ages, and I want to play my games now!

So the one complaint about the environments of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the world going on around you is that there isn't much in the way of lone wolf mercenaries doing similar things to what you do around the game. For example, let's say you're doing a mission in one of the underground areas. You creep into a room only to find another scavenger looting a body of someone he just killed, or maybe stashing some stuff - or better yet, taking something out of your own stash. I think to coincide with this complaint is the stashes feel too secure. I mean I have shit stashed ALL over The Zone, without worry of someone taking any of it. Just once I'd like to come across one of my stashes only to find it completely pilfered. I mean the whole game is somewhat "every man for himself", but they push the faction and group thing a little too much, so even though there's other "Stalkers" out there, I really still feel like I'm the only lone wolf in the whole Zone.

Anyway, I'm finally almost to the heart of Prypiat, after playing this off and on since the day it was released, and this really is a spectacular game. Quite honestly, I can't wait to start it again as soon as I finish, and this time I'll be able to play it with patches! Also: STALKER: Clear Sky. Can't stop pumping cum.

With the death of cartoons its also taken scifi shows with it. I really miss the fantasy and stories that some of the shows did. One of them was exosquad, watched it non stop when I was a kid and I was pissed off when the show was cancelled with out a resolution

Ok i'm about finished with my website. Posted it a few times before and the main criticism was the over zealous use of jpegs when nice formatted text would have sufficed. I've fixed this to a degree, not completely yet. Even though much of the imagery that makes up the design of the site is text, some of it, specifically titles and the links will remain images for reasons i wont go into here, everything else will eventually be text based for ease of updating and so on. There is a couple of links specifically on the other projects page which lead no where, soon they will. Currently just waiting for my domain to go live www.ryanhays.co.uk. But currently the page is sitting at www.cloverwebsites.co.uk

So have a look and let me know what you think of my design and the artwork. Let me know if you spot any mistakes.

Whats the best way to publicise your website? Is there a one step easy method of registering your page with all the major search engines? Also does anyone know off hand any links for blogs that cover artwork, prints and so on?

Bah, I blew my wife's surprise gift for Christmas for me. Its not entirely my fault. See, she got me an HD TiVO and she called to schedule it to get hooked up. However that somehow caused them to disabled the DVR part of my current comcast box. i called the support line to find out what happen and thats when I found out she had set up the appointment.

i would like to take this up as a hobby but don't know too much about it. i think next year when i get my tax return i'm going to get a decent digital camera and really get into it.

any tips for a newcomer? i don't wanna spend $5000 on a camera, more like in the sub 1000 area, so the N80 was looking pretty good. i'm just wondering if there's any other suggestions. maybe a book or something you guys recommend reading.
