Late Evening Reading

by Nick Breckon, Nov 18, 2007 3:41am PST

There seems to be some serious weirdness going on in that last chatty, and since no one else is around, I'm manning the controls and getting us the hell out of there. Welcome to Late Evening Reading, because unlike normal people, I'm still awake, writing about Mass Effect and wishing I was playing Rock Band. Hope everyone is busy gorging themselves silly on this impossibly fantastic stretch of gaming. The pessimist in me says it's all downhill from here. In a few short months, the major industry event of the week will probably be the My Horse and Me 2 demo, and all the teenagers--who will be 20 by then--will be talking about how we just had the Golden Age of Video Gaming, like they weren't wearing diapers in 1998. I don't see any Newtonian spaceship physics in Crysis, and that definitely wasn't a Hydralisk attacking me in Episode 2. Call me when Manny Calavera becomes a playable character in Rock Band, idiots.
