Smash Bros. Brawl Media Update: Ninjas, Taunts

Straight out of ~~Compton~~ Nintendo's official Smash Bros. site, Shacknews is proud to present the latest still images depicting Nintendo's fiercely anticipated Wii mascot fighter, Super Smash Bros. Bawl. First up in the media onslaught are the various introductory animations displayed when characters first appear on-screen, as well as some of their taunts. Coinciding with those are shots of Meta Knight's Final Smash, Ike's Final Smash, and the various attacks of Lucas.

Digging a bit deeper, we have two newly unveiled stages: one inspired by Ice Climbers, the other set in the depths of Metroid's Norfair. Resident Metal Gear Solid ninja Gray Fox makes an appearance in Assist Trophy form. Though you won't be able to play as him, he can be summoned to slice and dice other characters by grabbing a certain item. Speaking of items, many of the previous items from earlier Smash Bros. games will return in the slapstick brawler, which may entice some to practice up on their shield and grab techniques. Super Smash Bros. Brawl arrives in North America on February 10. To get a better look at the game, scope out our exhaustive image gallery.

Though not a big SSB fan, I'm looking forward to Brawl for no other reason than Nintendo throwing absolutely everything they have at this title. Sonic, Snake, Diddy Kong, the aesthetically-hawt levels, all the bonus stuff, online play... it's going to be great, and as a casual SSB fan, I'm happy to say I'm beyond pumped for the game. It will be worth the wait.
