OMG I CAN"T WAIT FOR PETZ HORSEZ 2!!!!!!!!111!!!

For me the Games for Windows banner is a deterrent. I'll sit back and listen to the responses from those who jump on Crysis this week.

I just told my wife that I would see her again around January or so due to all these releases.....

God damnit. Couldn't they spread this shit out over the course of a year at least a little bit?

Looks like Godzilla Unleashed was bumped form 11/13 to 12/5 without any mention.

Also, isn't it odd that Resident Evil is coming out a week before the Zapper? O_o

Ok so there is just too much here, the only logical solution is to find excuses why all these game suck and are not worth buying anyway.

Here I go.

Crysis - gameplay is a step down from FarCry, game runs surprisingly well on my PC but I can see the graphics in the demo all I want. AI actually seems worse than FC. Suit powers are interesting but they dumb down the gameplay. MP sucks.

Kane and Lynch - No online coop, that is all I need to say. Gameplay videos made gamepaly look very unrealistic. Who care about the difficulties of robbing a bank when you can take out 20+ swat guys while standing in the open. The MP mode sounds cool but the gameplay looks bad.

Solider of Fortune Payback - was announced and now is already coming out, thats a bad sign. Not developed by Raven, but some value team. GHOUL system will be interesting but that fun wore off in SOF1 already. Will likely be short and generic.

Assassins Creed - Saw the intro videos on youtube already... storyline looks stupid. Gameplay videos looked very boring. Never saw the appeal of this game other than the graphics (which were good 2 E3s ago) Jade Raymond is the only reason people want this game.

Metal of Honor Heroes 2 - Supposedly an improvement on the previous MOH Wii game, but who cares. We are all sick of WW2 shooters.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles - It is a rail shooter, so you get to visit all of the old locations.. great. The only draw this game has is nostalgia, once that wears off there might not be much of a game underneath.

Super Mario Galaxy - reviewers are sayings this could be the best Mario yet. I have played it at stores and I have to say that it seems somewhat generic. Interesting, yes, but nothing amazing. When I first saw Mario 64 I was enamored. I would wait in line for an hour to get a chance to play at the kiosk at Toys R Us. The environments and game play consumed me. The most I can say about Galaxy is that it looks sort of interesting.

Contra 4 - looks like a clone of Contra 3, these games were only cool when we were kids b/c you could shoot stuff. Almost all games have that now.

Orcs & Elves - John Carmack... your mobile games just do not look like very much fun.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat - played it in Arcade and SNES. Could have played it on PS1 and N64 if I wanted, or even XBLA, but I didn't want to. Fighters suck on DS anyway unless your an 8 year old b/c your hands will get all cramped up.


So if you need to save some money, feel free to use these excuses to skip one or many of these games.

In contrast I actually want to recommend AA: True Soldiers. While it has its faults, and is not nearly as polished as COD4, there is a great game here. It is much more realistic than COD4, and requires real teamwork and strategy to succeed. If you haven't enjoyed the PC version then I would recommend you check this one out if you are into realistic shooters which require more thinking and knowledge than twitch skills. Although aim is still important.

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - I must admit I plan on getting this game for PS2. I bought the first two and thought both were amazing. As a fighter it is very simplistic, but also very fun. I think it is the best DBZ fighter b/c it uniquely captures the feel of the series instead of inserting DBZ characters into a normal fighting game. I realize they are basically re-releasing the same game with added characters each time just so they can make more money. But what can I do :(

TRU is giving away a $25 gift card with the purchase of Super Mario Galaxy. In-store only, supposed to be available by 5 PM on Tuesday. I'm probably going to use the gift card to buy most of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles...

SMG and AC for me this week.
Then Rock Band and Mass Effect next week and then I think I'm done for the year.

Can we just skip Monday and move on to Tuesday?

There's just an insane amount of incredible games being released. Aside from money, I need time to play through these.

So, what's in that RPG GAMEPACK? I hope it's Generic RPG Title 1 and Generic RPG Title 2 because those were awesome.

So how will this run on Vista x64 Business? Or is this downgrade time? I have to use the onboard sound since m-audio are slackers.

soooo... contra 4 on the DS. reviews? anyone got this yet? geez did i love Contra on the NES, we played the living shit out of that game.

I thought Assassin's Creed was PC too. :( Oh well, I guess the gameplay would lend itself more to a gamepad. There'll be a demo right?

One thing I'll say about the Kane & Lynch cover art....nice choice for a pistol...the Browning Hi-Power is fucking classy! As much as I love the 1911 and Beretta 92 (the two major film/game darlings) its good to see the HP getting some love (I need to get me one).

Don't quite recognize the rifle...is it some sort of AR platform offshoot? Maybe a Sig556? I don't think its an HK...but I'm just looking at the thumbnail right now so its hard to say.

assassin's creed next week? i saw it in walmart in Windsor, ON on Saturday. not interested in it until a review though :\

I knew this week was going to be a deluge of titles...but wow...I didn't realize some of those titles were coming this week.

And next week is going to be bringing us more goodness.

My parents, my brother, and I...we get each other presents for Christmas and usually my parents ask me what I want (I sometimes ask them...unless we've got some big ass suprise...like when I first started working I got them both some really nice stuff they'd both been wanting)...so I decided Crysis and SMG...I figure that by Christmas I'll have my PC upgraded (the plan is to do it by the end of November or beginning of December)...and I'll have at least some other games out of the way...and I haven't finished Metroid yet (things have been so hectic and busy I have a huge stack of stuff to beat...I always do...but now its more than usual)...and I want to wait until I'm done with that to play SMG. My brother is asking what to get me so I may tell him Mass Effect (though after I paid for his PC upgrade when I first started working he's been looking to pay me back big...but he doesn't make as much money as I do...so I don't really want him spending too much...he's damned hard to buy for...not sure what I'm getting him).

This is absolutely insane. I see 4 titles I absolutely will get, and at least 6 more that I want to play but can wait for rebate / slow season. I don't think I've ever seen a week where I could easily buy 10 games o_O

Trust a behemoth holiday release list to be article 666.

It would be nice if the box images linked to a summary of the game somewhere.. there's titles I'm interested in now just having seen them on the page (Orcs & Elves to name one) but I had now clue about them before seeing them here. I'd like to be able to just click and get more info about the game.

Otherwise great job on this feature!

I was going over the Lamp, Sand and Lime Gaming Release Date calendar and for noticed that Rock Band was placed for a Nov. 23rd release. What an awful day, after Thanksgiving?

But I noticed I placed a link to the shack article of it going Gold and it's due out on the 20th! Same day as Mass Effect...

But I learned that you can also print out the Google Calendar into PDF without and added software even though I have PrimoPDF installed.
