Rock Band DLC Revealed: Police, Bowie, Radiohead, Sabbath, Metallica, More
by Chris Remo, Nov 08, 2007 3:47pm PSTPotentially crushing concerns that Harmonix would quickly fail to live up to its promise of weekly downloadable content for its upcoming Rock Band (PS2, PS3, X360), a huge slate of planned music has been revealed in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine. Dozens of songs are specified, some to be sold individually and some in packs. Artists and tracks be made available post-release include The Police ("Roxanne"), David Bowie ("Queen Bitch"), Radiohead ("My Iron Lung"), Black Sabbath ("Sweet Leaf"), Metallica, Weezer ("Buddy Holly"), The Ramones ("Rockaway Beach"), The Clash ("I Fought the Law"), Credence Clearwater Revival ("Fortunate Son"), Foreigner, The Knack, The Runaways, Wolfmother, T-Rex, The Pretenders, and Buzzcocks, a couple of whom are featured in the standard shipping version of Rock Band. There's some crossover to the competing Guitar Hero series as well. Queens of the Stone Age's "3s and 7s" is in Neversoft's just-released Guitar Hero III, while Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" was in Harmonix's own Guitar Hero II--though presumably it's a different cover this time around. All of the songs revealed in the magazine are expected to be released within "the first few months" of Rock Band's release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which occurs November 20 in North America. For the full list of tracks, read on. Tracks marked with an asterisk (*) are cover recordings, while others are original master recordings. The Police Pack - Roxanne - Synchronicity II - Can't Stand Losing You Queens of the Stone Age Pack - Sick Sick Sick - 3s and 7s - Little Sister Metallica Pack - Three or six as yet undetermined tracks Black Sabbath Pack - N.I.B.* - Sweet Leaf* - War Pigs* David Bowie Pack (*some masters, some covers) - Moonage Daydream - Heroes - Queen Bitch Punk Pack - Buzzcocks, "Ever Fallen in Love"* - The Clash, "I Fought the Law" - The Ramones, "Rockaway Beach" Single Tracks - Credence Clearwater Revival, "Fortunate Son" - Foreigner, "Juke Box Hero" - The Knack, "My Sharona" - The Runaways, "Cherry Bomb" - T-Rex, "Bang a Gong" - Wolfmother, "Joker and the Thief" - The Pretenders, "Brass in a Pocket" - Radiohead, "My Iron Lung" - Weezer, "Buddy Holly"

The only, only thing I'm worried about is how loud the drum set is. That shit just echoes throughout the Best Buys right now. I guess the solution is to crank the songs. Which I won't mind, considering this lineup. Good lord.

I hope that Metallica is a bunch of old shit, I'd love to see Master of Puppets, Seek & Destroy, Four Horsemen, Creeping Death, etc.

Though, the one song I'd really really love to see is Harvey Danger's Flagpole Sitta, it's the ultimate party track.

If they put enough old GH songs in Rock Band I may just put away the PS2 entirely...
