Geometry Wars Wii and DS Gold, Dated

The Wii and DS editions of Geometry Wars: Galaxies, based on Bizarre Creations' prodigious multi-directional grid-shooter, are complete and will be in stores later this month, publisher Sierra has announced.

The Wii edition hits stores on November 20, while the DS version arrives on November 27. Both were handled by Kuju Entertainment, with Bizarre consulting on the latest entries of the series that began as a mini-game in the Project Gotham Racing franchise and exploded into popularity as a launch title for Xbox Live Arcade.

Unlike other Geometry Wars titles, Galaxies features a full-fledged single-player campaign that features various missions and new grids, as well as a variety of multiplayer modes. Owners of the Wii version will be able to wirelessly transfer a copy of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved--the game that propelled the series to stardom, not the new title--to DS systems via local Wi-Fi

"We are excited to provide in Geometry Wars: Galaxies more than 60 times the amount of content than Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved with new levels, controls, weapons and enemies," said Sierra senior VP of global marketing Al Simone.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

What is the control scheme on DS? I can't imagine how it would play properly.
