ShackCast 15: Spore, Star Wars, Jade Raymond

By Maarten Goldstein, Oct 26, 2007 11:11am PDT On Episode 15 of the ShackCast, Steve Gibson, Chris Remo, Nick Breckon, and Chris Faylor discuss an astounding variety of topics.

These subjects include Spore, Eye of Judgment (PS3), Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3), the rumored new Star Wars MMO, Samba de Amigo Wii, Soldier of Fortune 3, Hellgate: London, Jade Raymond at the grocery story, and more. We also branch out into the realm of visuals this week, supplying you, our gentle listener, with visual aides for the Impossible Creatures segment.

Unfortunately, in our rush to bring you the latest in Shack auditory entertainment, we neglected to sketch out the traditional timestamped breakdown. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

  • About the Animal Crossing letters and possible shenanigans -

On the DS, one way to sent a note was to buy a note in a bottle from Tom Nook, write a note, and chuck it out to sea. Next time you someone visited your town, or you visited someone else', you could get a note in a bottle washed up on your shore later. It could be from anyone you came in contact with, so if someone had a lot of people in their town that you visited, it could be from any one of those people. Being as I visited Shacker towns, I had some interesting notes wash up. My favorite was a suicide note from redfive.

  • Perfectly timed...I have a 4 hour drive into Pittsburgh tommorow for a Doctor's appointment...so this will at least kill some of the travel time (in addition to Zelda DS...I like to multitask when I'm driving you see...I just put the stylus in my mouth and hang onto the DS with my left hand while I steer with the right...actually I'm car-pooling down there with my Mom, as she also has a Doctor's appointment down there too...so on the way down she'll drive and I'll play Zelda DS, and then I'll drive and she'll play Brain Age or NSMB or Sonic DS while I listen to the shackcast at least part of the time).
