Next Quake Wars Patch Adds Voice Chat, Weapon Tweaks, Better Quad Core Support
by Chris Faylor, Oct 25, 2007 8:23am PDTSplash Damage's forthcoming 1.2 patch for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (PC) will add voice chat to the game and implement a number of other tweaks, studio owner and lead game designer Paul Wedgewood revealed on the game's community page. The voice chat functionality comes complete with a wide array of configuration options, such as the ability to test any chatty devices in-game. Other changes include 7.1 speaker support, smarter bots, a threaded renderer that increases quad core processor performance, user interface improvements, and an overall greater general stability. The patch also modifies the game's weapon damage based on statistics and user feedback. As a result, the pistol and blaster have become more accurate, and the shotgun and nailgun now has a faster rate of fire. No specific date was provided for the patch, though the Wedgewood notes that it is finished and undergoing testing at publisher Activision. He also revealed that the studio has already begun work on the 1.3 patch and is putting the final touches on its Software Developers Kit.

Glad we have a ton of other cool shooters out and on the way to ease the disappointment with this title.

Still the demo map didn't help a lot. They should release again a demo but with a better map and with the fixes they're promising.
Also being release close to TF2 and Halo3 didn't help them at all. Those two game absorbed the attention of 99% of all online players.
