Neverwinter Nights 2 Downloadable Expansion Set for Fall Release

3
Publisher Atari today sent word that the first Neverwinter Nights 2 Adventure Pack--a cute way of saying "downloadable content"--is on its way to the web, under the title Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate.

Set in the Forgotten Realms city of Westgate, players will begin the story with a "cursed treasure that threatens to destroy them," not very much unlike a World of Warcraft subscription. Defeating the treasure and completing the content will keep you busy for approximately 15 hours, according to Atari.

The pack was developed by the creators of the Neverwinter Nights mod Darkness over Daggerford, but this new project is no amateur effort, sporting full professional voice acting and music.

Players who own Neverwinter Nights 2 can buy and download the pack from the official Neverwinter Nights 2 website sometime later this fall.

I'm playing the original NWN2 campaign now. I purchased the game back in November of 2006 and played it for a few weeks, starting the campaign with my friend to play cooperatively, but stopped because it performed poorly. Now that its all patched up it plays a hell of a lot better (I have upgraded my system since then as well). I'm trying to get thru this campaign because I'm hearing that Mask of the Betrayer is excellent.

the OC of nwn2 is pretty awesome, the ending is a little meh but the rest of it was great.

As for MOB, I'm not that far into it(only about 4 hours) and I've had a fucking blast so far, It seems really fucking good.

The original campaign is pretty good, but not amazing. The expansion is the best RPG I've played since Baldur's Gate. I'd recommend playing through the OC first though since the stories are kinda connected
