As announced this week, the Hellgate: London single-player demo is now available. The 1.46GB download includes the Blademaster and Marksman classes, and part of Act 1 of the game. The game was announced as having gone gold yesterday, and will be in North American stores October 31.

  • Kind of sad about this. It starts off very poorly, obnoxious overlay-help-text and the first "dungeon" i went into looks plain and lame, I mean, bad. Then, the second area with the wind-blown-snow on london streets looked great. The graphics arent amazing but the atmosphere was there and i really liked that.

I saw potential for the overall gameplay in coop + later levels + more/harder monsters, but if I hadn't watched some gameplay videos and read beta-player posts, I wouldn't see that potential out of this demo.

I feel like this demo is 25% hit and 75% miss, and thats probably generous. Why shoot your own foot, Flagship?

  • Power was out for me from last night until a couple of hours ago, so I just tried this demo. WOW, what a horribly crappy presentation and horrendous game-play this piece of shit has. I'm usually not a graphics whore, but this is so below the standard quality level it is unbelievable. It feels like an unfinished mod to a horribly-playing FPS. I don't care how good the leveling system might be if the gameplay is shit and the presentation isn't up to the standards of the year 2001. Total disappointment; not wasting my money on this. This is a $20 budget game.

Glad I purchased Titan Quest + expansion pack over Steam several days ago.
