Brutal Legend Trailer Depicts Rocking, Rolling Hell

Gamers got their first look at Double Fine's latest, the Jack Black-starring BrÃƒÂ¼tal Legend, a few days ago, and now there's a fancy trailer providing one hell of a stage show for the collective eyes and ears of the gaming community. Coming from Psychonauts (PC, PS2, Xbox) and Grim Fandango (PC) creator Tim Schafer, the tale of a rocking roadie relegated to hell and his awesome adventure to authority is currently in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

if it has the dialog and characters have quality of psychonauts (i dont dare to ask for anything like grim fandango ) i will buy it no matter if the gameplay blows or not (it probably will?).

funny note, it took me ages to finish grim fandango because i really hated the controls. now here i am admitting that i was wrong. despite the horrid controls for which the designer should have been shot in the face repeatedly its still one of the best adventures ive played. its in the line of great ones like monkey island 2,indy4 and day of the tentacle.

A couple of thoughts here: 1. doesn't look very interesting, at all, compared to some of the cool stuff he's done in the past, and 2. way to ditch the platform that made you famous...good one, Tim.

This trailer is ... not at all what I thought the game would be like. Is it just a promotional video meant to be cool, but not at all like the actual game? I thought it was based around a roadie at a rock show, not rock show roadie who battles fantasy demons. Unless it's some sort of creative metaphor for metal concerts, where everything in this fantasy world relates to things that happen in real world concerts. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it will be great, but it's a bit surprising.
