TimeShift Gets Golden for PC, 360

14
After getting delayed, gutted, and extensively overhauled, Saber Interactive's TimeShift (PC, PS3, X360) has gone gold for PC and Xbox 360 and will make its retail date of October 30. The PlayStation 3 version is currently scheduled for release December 4.

The game features the time-controlling gameplay alluded to in its title and has 16-player online multiplayer via PC or Xbox Live. To see first-hand how the game will play, check out the recently available PC demo on FileShack or download the demo from Xbox Live Marketplace.

I thought the demo was surprisingly fun. However, I've already outstretched my games budget. :(

Does it need a beast of a computer to run?

I couldn't tell you that since my PC is fairly decent. Check out the demo to see if your PC can play it.

If you can run the BioSock, UT3: R6:Vegas or MoH:AA demos well, it will be fine (same graphic engine):

Actually, it's not UE. That being said, if your computer can handle any of those games you should be able to handle TimeShift just fine.

oops, you're right. Not sure what I was thinking, maybe cause it looks so good.

Actually my PC cannot run Bioshock at all, and UT3 and MoH were both not that great, but this game ran incredible for me and it looked beautiful. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YX7nB6y8FZU It's really hard to see the quality because youtube compression sucks, but I was easily running it fast enough to run fraps with no slowdown at all and it looked incredible. I fired up the new fear demo and it was incredibly BLAH comparitively.

I had a lot of fun with the demo on my aging PC which includes an X1950pro 512 AGP, Athlon 3700+, and a gig of ram. I ran it at 1920x1200 with medium settings and it was playable.

Yeah, its too bad, it seems like a good game, but there are a bunch of great games out currently and on the horizon. Bad timing.

Agreed. Graphics are awesome, and it uses the slow mo better than the FEAR series, which I thought it was going to blatantly rip off... But yeah, it's going to get gang banged by other hot titles.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by this one as the demo from last year or whenever was pretty lame.

I love snatching guns from enemies when time is frozen.

Too bad it is probably gonna go under the radar with all the AAA titles coming out.

There were two demos? I played one on the 360 a few weeks ago and it seemed pretty meh to me. Don't know if that was the new or the old demo, if there was more than one of them.

Seemed a shame as the movie thing they released (without any gameplay footage) looked well made and interesting, but the actual game seemed to have very little to do with that.

I agree...I just think it's said that there are so many games coming out and you might want to play it but it's not in your budget. I have the same issue ...I can't believe I actually had to come up with a games budget. Don't get me wrong ...I'm not complaining that there are a ton of great games out this holiday...but we go through this every year with all the great games coming out around the same time then in the spring or summer we have shit. I'm not quite sure what the answer to this is.

I think the answer is to buy TimeShift in April.

Look for retail advertised sales or keep an eye on Gogamers 48 hour madness. Most pc games can be had for around $30 in the first month or two if you keep an eye out.
