Smash Bros. Brawl Officially Delayed in U.S.

Following the Japanese delay for the game announced at Nintendo's Conference 2007 Fall, Smash Bros. Brawl's (Wii) North American release has been pushed to February 10, 2008. Nintendo senior marketing VP George Harrison announced the delay for the Nintendo brawler today during a media summit in San Francisco. The setback pushes the game more than two months past its original pre-holiday release date of December 3. Japanese gamers will get to enjoy the game two weeks earlier than U.S. gamers on January 28--the newly set Japanese release date for the game.

Sucks for those Nintendo fans who are desperately eager to play yet another iteration in this long-running series but with so many other insanely cool games out and/or coming out this holiday season, it's hard to be truly unhappy about this delay.

I was really looking forward to playing this over the holidays when all my friends would be in town and we could play together. That's something I specifically bought the Wii for, and now it's just going to be collecting dust over the holidays. GG Nintendo...brilliant move!

Well, that's just peachy.

If the US release get's delayed, take a guess when we Euroes will be able to play the game.

I'm all for the delay if it makes the game better. I just hope that Sonic's inclusion doesn't doom the game to be horrible.
