Here's your weekly Shackcast, and it's a packed show befitting this absurdly blockbuster-ridden upcoming holiday season. As always, send in your comments and questions to shackcast@shacknews.com.

Episode 12 focuses almost entirely on game impressions, with no time left for news. On tap is discussion of Gears of War on PC, Crysis, Portal, Guitar Hero III and its differences on the three main platforms, Hellgate: London, and Dementium: The Ward on DS.

Faylor also played a bit of Treasure's N64 classic Sin & Punishment, officially available in the West for the first time thanks to Virtual Console on Wii, and we have some listener mail involving missing game discs at retail and the unsettling growing number of simultaneously offered models of various consoles.

I don't like these coming on Fridays. Because, even me still here at work at 7pm has me leaving before I'll listen to it.

Then again... I do have Monday morning for this now.

Yeah, we'll put some more thought into it. It's really tough. Recording later in the week makes more sense for us because we can discuss news that happened more recently, and because since less news is released late in the week we have more time during the workday whereas recording earlier in the week feels like an overload. On the other hand I realize people like to listen to this during their commute, etc. Maybe we'll try recording on Wednesday and releasing on Thursday?

I like it because there's a new pod cast by the time I go to the shooting range on Saturday (where they have a wireless access point hooked up to their DSL)...so I download it up there while I'm shooting and then I listen on my iRiver on the way home.
