You guys are going to absolutely love this game. Great atmosphere, physics, and amazing graphics. It takes the series in a new direction while still retaining the best elements of the Most Wanted/Carbon/ Underground games.

I hope you're right. Carbon was a downright chore to play at times and drifting (at least on the Wii) was god-awful

Don't play NFS on the Wii. Just setting yourself up for failure.

The best part of Most Wanted was the focus on chases, working up bounties, milestones, etc. I still play it now and there just because it was great to see how long you would evade. You didn't need to focus on ricing at all -- just upgrade your car with tires or whatever and back to the chase. It was pure unbridled fun.

Since this was arguably the best part of Most Wanted, do you mean to say ProStreet is going to have a lot of focus on the chase and little focus on the rice? From what I've seen that's not the case.

I don't see it. I know 1up mentions it fondly in podcasts but it doesn't seem like my sort of game at all. Drifting seems really boring. Most Wanted was loads of fun and this seems to be miles away from that.

I liked NFS:MW but they need to spend more time on the sound. If they took all the money they wasted on the stupid music and ditched that crap entirely (simply put an mp3 player in so people can play whatever they want) and put that budget and effort into the engine and environmental sounds, it'd be a much more enjoyable game for people who've actually driven these cars (or even folks who've watched a lot of online videos of them racing).

It gets old hearing the same exact engine sounds for a car all the time, particularly the uniformity of things (shifting, for example) which becomes monotonous rather quickly. Sure the pitch changes a bit when you go through a tunnel, but that's about the only thing they bothered to model. How about actually researching and capturing the sound of each car with different exhaust setups and from the different camera positions that the player is offered (inside, close behind, further behind) and exterior passing by (for when a given car is driven by an opponent and you are hearing it drive by you) - and doing so for different throttle positions (rpm) and speeds (mph). A car coasting by you in a low gear sounds completely different than when doing so in a higher gear (lower idle rpm, naturally), and both sound completely different than that same car screaming by you at WOT.

I dunno, I guess I just found a lot to be desired in the sound department. For me it's not simply enough that the cars sounded vaguely like the real life counterparts, especially when they're tossing all that money on crappy music and star FMV cameos and whatnot.

I thought the graphics were just about perfect in NFS:MW and the gameplay and car selection was just about perfect (though more is certainly welcome).

They really needed to work on improving the sound and some other subtle things to really make it shine though. And yeah, the whole 'tuner' thing was fine for one game, but now it's going on four(?) games and it's more than a bit worn out.

No, see, I already played Underground and its spawn......I want a NEW 'effing game, not the 5th iteration of Underground. Go back and tell your client to spend some 'effing money, do some brainstorming and stop selling us the same game year after year. (I'll forgive Most Wanted as it was decent).

BTW, how does it feel to be a tool?
