Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts Ships

7
Following news of the game going gold earlier this month, Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts has shipped to stores. Publisher THQ previously indicated the title would arrive in stores this month, but had not pinned down a specific date.

The standalone expansion to Relic's acclaimed PC WWII RTS Company of Heroes features two new armies, each with their own campaign, DirectX 10 support, mission persistence, improved AI and physics, and a dynamic weather system. The original Company of Heroes is not required, though the two releases interface to provide new multiplayer options.

I love COH...but this game will just have to wait. So much goodness was just shipped or is about to shipped.

yea, THQ fucked up by forcing this out the door. Should've waited till mid october (after orange box) or january 08

I agree the timing isn't the best - perhaps though they were banking on the notion that the target audience for this game isn't interested in Halo 3 (however flawed an idea that may be)

yea, I'm going to have to pick that up eventually. Been to busy with tf2 and now halo 3, plus RE4 (wii), Metroid Prime 3, but then switch back to TF2 and the rest of the orange box... I think that is when I'll have a chance to play some WiC. Either that or I'll buy my new box then.

TLDR too many games too little time

I don't think that WiC is going to draw players away from CoH. The games are different enough that I don't think it will be a factor.
