Second Bomberman Pack Nuking Xbox Live Next Wednesday
by Carlos Bergfeld, Sep 19, 2007 12:20pm PDTBomb-Up Pack 2 for Bomberman Live will arrive September 26 on Xbox Live, and in a bizarre cross-promotional effort, the add-on will include gaming blog Destructoid's mascot as a playable character. The bombastic upgrade will set gamers back 250 Microsoft Points ($3.13), the same price as the first Bomb-Up Pack. As the block-headed Mr. Destructoid, "players can dress up their Bomberman as the robot and bomb away with the impunity of a blogger," according to the announcement. In addition to Destructoid's mascot, nine other characters like a Raquel Welch-like cavewoman and suave matador will be available for play in the pack. Two new levels--the magical Midieval Times and racetrack-themed Full Tilt--will complement a new Bomb Shelters game mode, with two new leaderboard rankings completing the package. Bomberman Live's Bomb-Up Pack 1, released in August, contained a similar set of additions. Even with the added cost of these add-on packs, the 800 Point ($10) Bomberman Live remains a much better deal than Bomberman: Act Zero, available originally at retail stores for $49.99.
