Boogie Brings Slick Moves to PlayStation 2, Wacky 3D Glasses to DS
by Chris Faylor, Sep 05, 2007 7:56am PDTNo longer content with just one edition of Boogie, which released in early August on Wii, the overachievers at EA Montreal are bringing the dance-oriented title to PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS this holiday season. The PlayStation 2 version of Boogie is said to contain "the game's signature dancing and singing gameplay" with the ability for players to record their performances and create their own music videos. No mention was made as to how it will replicate the Wii's motion-based dancing controls. Despite the DS's built-in microphone, the handheld edition forgoes any type of karaoke functionality, mercifully sparing the general public from further butcherings of Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas tunes. Instead, the portable iteration focuses on 3 main dancing modes--Copycat, Freestyle, and Choreography--as well as mini-games, a career mode, and download and multi-card play. That said, the DS version will still provide ample opportunity for players to publicly embarrass themselves. In a first for the portable system, Boogie on DS will come packed with special, and presumably stylish, 3D glasses that, according to EA, allow the game to be experienced "in full 3D."
