Pixies to Rock Out in Rock Band (Also Hole); Updated: Garbage, Yeah Yeah Yeahs
by Chris Remo, Sep 04, 2007 9:27pm PDTIn new IGN videos highlighting competitive drumming in Harmonix Music Systems' upcoming rhythm game Rock Band (PS3, X360), new playable tracks are revealed: "Wave of Mutilation," from the excellent Pixies album Doolittle, and Hole's "Celebrity Skin," from the album of the same name. It is not clear whether the tracks will be included on the retail game disc or planned to be made available for purchase and download post-release. When contacted by Shacknews, industry analysts estimated that the inclusion of a track from Doolittle boosts the awesomeness of Harmonix's anticipated title by several hundred percent. Please, gentle readers, pray for the availability of the full album. Update: In a corresponding preview piece, it was revealed that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs track "Maps" and the Garbage track "I Think I'm Paranoid" will also be included in the game. All four tracks will ship with the game. The current full list of all 31 known tracks follows: 1970s - The Who, "Won't Get Fooled Again" - Mountain, "Mississippi Queen" (cover recording) - David Bowie, "Suffragette City" - Black Sabbath, "Paranoid" (cover recording) - Blue Oyster Cult, "Don't Fear the Reaper" - The Ramones, "Blitzkrieg Bop" - Deep Purple, "Highway Star" - Rolling Stones, "Gimme Shelter" 1980s - Rush, "Tom Sawyer" (cover recording) - Bon Jovi, "Wanted Dead or Alive" - The Clash, "Should I Stay or Should I Go" - Faith No More, "Epic" - Pixies, "Wave of Mutilation" 1990s - Foo Fighters, "Learn to Fly" - Metallica, "Enter Sandman" - Nirvana, "In Bloom" - Stone Temple Pilots, "Vasoline" - Weezer, "Say It Ain't So" - Smashing Pumpkins, "Cherub Rock" - Radiohead, "Creep" - Beastie Boys, "Sabotage" - Hole, "Celebrity Skin" - Garbage, "I Think I'm Paranoid" 2000s - The Hives, "Main Offender" - Queens of the Stone Age, "Go With the Flow" - The Strokes, "Reptilia" - Jet, "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" - OK Go, "Here It Goes Again" - Nine Inch Nails, "The Hand That Feeds" - Freezepop, "Brain Power" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, "Maps"

well, i guess every game has to have Level 1. a retarded, two-chord song like "maps" should fit the bill.
Love that song. :D
I can think of a few Garbage tracks that would probably be better for GH, but this one is great too.

Keep in mind, if this is my only complaint for the game, I'm going to be a very, very happy man.

And seeing as how they know what I like (except where they picked the worst ever Foo Fighters song), I fully expect to see Sonic Youth, White Stripes, and Soundgarden tracks in the game.
