Electronic Arts sends along 12 new screenshots of Will Wright's evolutionary life simulator, detailing the game's progression from tiny cell-sized organisms to tool-wielding civilizations. Spore is currently expected to arrive on PC in spring 2008.

I know this game is suppose to be stylized and all, and it's suppose to attract a 2+ demographic (right?), but if I'm going to be staring at the screen for hours on end, they could've at least put in some higher-res textures. The graphics look like they're from 1999 . Are they just using an older PC for the screenshots or something? Everything is so low-polygon it's ugly.

Probably play the game up to the point where it turns into an RTS and quit, I just don't see how that fits into a "life" sim. I don't recall there being tanks and planes in Simant, Simfarm, Simearth etc.

- It's not just a "life" sim like Simant, etc. It's more an "everything" sim. : Arcanum
