New James Bond Details Emerge

3
Publisher Activision has doled out a few morsels of information on its plans for the James Bond property. Referred to as "the company's newest blockbuster franchise," entries in the series are planned for unspecified "next-generation" and handheld platforms along with PC. The titles are being handled by developers Treyarch, Beenox and Vicarious Visions.

Earlier this year, Treyarch handled the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Spider-Man 3, while Vicarious Visions tackled the Wii and DS iterations along with the two DS versions of Transformers. Beenox is responsible for the PC releases of licensed Activision titles, including Spider-Man 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. It is expected the studios will function in a similar capacity for James Bond.

Wow - way to get the A-list talent to develop for the most profitable franchise in movie history. Looks like Riddick's crown as best movie-to-game conversion will be safe for a few more years...

Gotta give them credit for trying something new with Everything or Nothing, but they never really brought their A-game for Bond. They milked it while riding the coattails of Rare's success with GoldenEye. Hell EA made a game called GoldenEye that had nothing to do with GoldenEye. That's truly sad.

Yeah, seriously. Treyarch made CoD3, I believe. That was one of the most boring FPSes I've played in a while. Stuff happened all around, but I found it so hard to care. None of it mattered. you've in a tank, and you need to destroy a machine gun nest? Just wait until the tank pulls into perfect position until you can actually fire. Oh, you can't aim? The machine gun, while firing at you, will do no damage, so take your sweet time. Gah. Will they ever make a good game?
