Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Piles on PSN and XBLA Next Week

Backbone Entertainment's HD and online-enhanced port of Capcom's beloved competitive puzzler Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next week via each platform's online distribution service. Carrying the price point of 800 Microsoft Points ($10), it hits Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday, August 29. The $10 PlayStation 3 version drops in the PlayStation Store the next day--Thursday, August 30--as Sony's online storefront only updates on Thursdays.

News of the friendship-destroying puzzler's release was announced on Capcom's official forum by senior strategic planning and research director Christian Svensson. "I look forward to dumping lots of gems on all of you," he taunted.

No mention was made of the Steam-bound PC edition. Following an inquiry as to when PC gamers will be able to unleash massive color-coordinated chains and drown their opponents in junk gems, a Capcom representative told Shacknews that the release and pricing deatils of the PC version have yet to be determined.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
