Massive Entertainment's RTS World in Conflict (PC, X360) is everywhere these days. From BlizzCon to QuakeCon, thousands have already played the game extensively. However, if you happen to be one of the few to have missed out, you're in luck: Sierra today announced that a PC demo will be released this Friday. The demo will include a multiplayer map that supports up to 16 players, in addition to the first example of a single-player mission. A skirmish mode allowing for play against AI bots will also be included. World in Conflict hits stores on September 18 on the PC, and later this fall on the Xbox 360. If by some miracle you really have no idea what this game is about, check out our preview.

  • I have to applaud Massive for their work on this game. I'm not much of a strategy guy, but this game delivers in all the right ways:

-Fantastic graphics engine. Really beautiful game and runs smoothly even on old hardware.
-Wonderful community support--the built-in friends list, clan functionality, and communication tools set a new standard for multiplayer games.
-Innovative gameplay--finally an RTS for people who hate RTS games! Not overwhelming or tedious, but deep enough to warrant some thought.
-Bullshit-free marketing since day one. I still remember that at E3 two years ago, Massive was one of the only developers actually letting people play their game. Not to mention the multiple betas (that actually worked well!), intelligent developer interviews, and timely delivery of the finished product.

This will be one of the few games I buy this year, because Massive is the type of developer that needs to be supported!
